Two weeks in Guadeloupe, between roots and work

Two weeks in Guadeloupe, between roots and work

These two weeks in Guadeloupe were not really a holiday in the strict sense.

In the end, my two phones and laptop did not spend very long in my bag… A great deal of work, then, but also the pleasure of reconnecting with my family, familiar surroundings and this island to which I remain deeply attached.

And amid all this, a few particularly uplifting moments.

In Petit-Canal, I arrived in particular for the final day of a women’s football development camp organised by ASC Renaissance, a club where my mother, Danielle Monlouis, is one of the directors, together with Zétoils Galanta.

Three days bringing together around thirty young players aged 6 to 22, centred on football, development and self-confidence.

I had the pleasure of attending the medal presentation and saying a few words to them about the development of women’s football, but above all about the role each of them can play in that development.

When working daily on the challenges of sports governance and development, this type of initiative also reminds us of something very tangible: great ambitions for women’s sport also come to life here, on the pitches, in clubs and through those who commit themselves every day.

A full stay, then, combining work, family, sport and a return to my roots.

And now, time for the new season.
