The Tour de France, women's edition 🚴‍♀️

On Saturday 1 August, I was fortunate to experience the finish of the first stage of the Tour de France Femmes in Lausanne, before following the Lausanne–Geneva stage the next day from an organisers’ support car.

Two days that allowed me to experience the Tour differently.

From a support car, you obviously experience the race at close quarters, but you also discover everything that goes on behind the scenes: logistics, coordination, safety and the work of all the teams involved. When you see the peloton go by, you do not necessarily imagine the full scale of the organisation around it.

That is also what made these two days particularly interesting: the opportunity to speak with the people who bring the Tour to life and better understand their work. In particular, I caught up with Christian Prudhomme, Director of the Tour de France, and Marion Rousse, Director of the women’s Tour de France, with whom we shared a few moments around the race.

This edition of the Tour de France Femmes ended on 9 August, and I am delighted to have experienced part of it in this way.

And above all, what a pleasure to see so many people lining the roads to cheer on the riders, and women’s cycling gaining a little more prominence every year.

Congratulations to the riders, the teams and everyone who brought this edition to life. 🚴‍♀️
