Route du Rhum · Destination Guadeloupe 2026: one year to go
With less than a year to go before the official start of the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe 2026, the Guadeloupe Region and the race organisers (OC Sport Pen Duick) launched the next edition at an evening held on 27 November at Printemps Haussmann.
A pleasure to attend and to see Ary Chalus, President of the Guadeloupe Region 🇬🇵, his teams and my friends from Guadeloupe.
The 2026 edition promises to remain true to the strengths of the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe:
a unique transatlantic race, a deep bond between Saint-Malo and Guadeloupe, and an exceptional fleet that will set sail on 1 November 2026.
The organisers presented the main features of this next edition:
a balance between tradition and innovation, a stronger commitment to the territory, and collective efforts already well under way.
And because a wonderful evening also calls for wonderful flavours: a word for the delicious meal created by Chef Xavier Pistol, with a special mention for the tartare, which everyone enjoyed.
We must also salute Timal 🦅, the Route du Rhum mascot, an iconic frigatebird embodying Guadeloupe and its historic connection with Brittany.
See you on 1 November for the grand departure for Pointe-à-Pitre.
