The Football Association of Ireland has decided to pay the same match fees to players representing the Republic of Ireland’s senior women’s and men’s teams in international fixtures.

To reach this agreement, the men’s team agreed to reduce its match fees so that the Federation could increase the pay received by the women players.

England, Brazil, Australia, Norway and New Zealand are among the countries that have also publicly committed to doing the same.

The Federation added that bonuses for qualifying for tournaments would also be subject to this principle.

Which country will be the next to join this new movement?
