The dozens of leaders of major companies who, two years ago, committed to doing everything possible to establish gender parity in French companies, in an opinion piece signed by Ministers Agnès Pannier-Runacher and Marlène Schiappa Bruguière and published in the Journal du Dimanche, are renewing their call and promising to accelerate progress by setting quotas for women in positions of power.

Convinced that women’s economic empowerment is a powerful driver of economic growth and social stability, they aim to achieve a minimum of 30% women in the top 10% of positions of responsibility within SBF120 companies, and a minimum annual increase of 2% in the proportion of women among executives.

Although the proportion of women in leadership bodies is increasing, they believe progress is too slow. They therefore call for numerical targets, as quotas have proved effective.

“This fight for economic equality and women’s visibility is a humanist and republican commitment” that must be maintained at all costs.
