To raise the standard of women’s refereeing in France and establish it as an international benchmark, the FFF (French Football Federation) has just launched a plan to professionalise women’s refereeing.
Introduced in the next D1 Arkema season, it will benefit eight referees with the aim of strengthening their technical and athletic skills.
In addition to the three usual training camps at CNF Clairefontaine Arkema, they will have to attend four further specialist three-day camps during the season.
This initiative is expected to develop over the coming seasons and encourage former elite women players to become referees.
