The social and economic concerns arising from the crisis facing businesses could lead to a decline in #CSR.

Indeed, this unprecedented crisis is showing alarming signs of this regression, even in companies with an already strong commitment.
Taking French CAC 40 companies as an example, the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and BCG GAMMA corporate social commitment index, which reveals a statistical link between a company’s level of commitment and its financial results, gives them an average score of 48/100. In this context, although they still have considerable room for improvement, the negative impact is inevitable.

Sport, particularly professional football, which shares the ambition to develop CSR initiatives, will also have to reduce its contributions, including its contribution to the National Sports Agency, because of falling television rights revenues.
However, during the 2019–2020 season, professional football clubs considerably increased their CSR initiatives, particularly during lockdown.

Unfortunately, with the difficulties caused by the crisis, forecasts point to major withdrawals of support across all sectors.
