For failing in his duty to protect the physical and psychological integrity of a victim of harassment, Mr Manuel Lopes Nascimento, standing for re-election as President of the Guinea-Bissau Football Federation (FFGB), has just been banned from all football-related activity at national and international level for ten years, only 24 hours before the elections.

The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee found that he had breached Article 23 of the Code of Ethics of the FIFA and will have to pay a fine of CHF 100,000.

Under Article 78(2) of the same code, he will be notified of this decision within 60 days before it is published on the website legal.fifa.com.
The elections, in which he was the clear favourite, have consequently been postponed until 8 August.
