9th professional women’s football awards, the first under the LFFP
On 28 April, as Secretary General of the FFF – French Football Federation, I had the pleasure of attending the ninth LFFP – Women’s Professional Football League Awards ceremony at the Pavillon Dauphine in Paris. It was an emotional occasion, bringing together everyone involved in French professional women’s football.
Alongside Jean-Michel Aulas, President of the LFFP, Antoine Arnault, owner of Paris FC, and Andreea Koenig, Vice-President of the LFFP and President of RC Lens Women, we celebrated the outstanding performances of the 2024–2025 season.
The evening featured the presentation of several awards:
- Clara Mateo, Paris FC forward, was named the top-flight player of the year.
- Sandrine SOubeyrand, Paris FC coach, was recognised for the capital club’s excellent season.
- Christiane Endler, Olympique Lyonnais goalkeeper, received the award for best goalkeeper.
In the Seconde Ligue, Maëva Salomon (Le Mans FC), Blandine Joly (RC Lens) and Sarah M’Barek (RC Lens) won the awards for best player, goalkeeper and coach respectively.
A special tribute was paid to Gaëtane Thiney, an iconic figure at Paris FC, who will end her long career at the close of the season. She received an honorary trophy from Jean-Michel Aulas and former France international Laure Boulleau.
The evening was an opportunity to appreciate how far professional women’s football in France has come and to salute the commitment of everyone working to develop it. Congratulations to all the winners, and many thanks to the LFFP and CANAL+ Group for this wonderful celebration of women’s football.
