Ms Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, one of Nigeria's most powerful women, was appointed on February 15 as Director-General of the WTO by representatives of the 164 member countries.

Twice Nigeria's finance minister and foreign minister will also be Africa's first female leader.

It intends to tackle the economic and health repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic as a priority by lifting, for example, restrictions on exports of medical supplies and #vaccines or by encouraging the manufacture of vaccines in more countries.
Another priority action will be to get the organization out of the lethargy in which it has been plunged for several years.

The WTO is indeed coming out of a difficult period, marked by the repeated blockages of the Trump administration against the backdrop of economic war between Washington and Beijing.

Ms Okonjo-Iweala admits to feeling the extra weight as the first woman and the first African to hold the post, where she will undoubtedly be much anticipated.

We wish her good luck in her new functions!

Ms Monlouis brings her expert assessment of football overall and globally and on Africa, which remains the focus on our TV channel. Her football knowledge has always impressed me; she can write about it without being a professional athlete in this field. The bonus for me comes from the analyses and legal advice she brings to our audience.
