On March 20, at the initiative of Joëlle Monlouis, a symposium was held in the Senate on freedom of expression for athletes.

The ACE Sports Law Commission, co-chaired by Claudia Massa and Joëlle Monlouis and having as vice-president Thierry CHIRON organized this event.

At the opening of the symposium, Mrs Amélie OUDÉA-CASTÉRA, Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, addressed the participants to express her five convictions regarding the freedom of expression of athletes in society in general and that of major sporting events in particular.

We were pleased to hear the following:

- the feelings of athletes Ysaora Thibus and Guillaume Martin.

- David Jacotot, Jean-Paul Hordies, Marie-Hélène PATRY and Fabien Safanjon for their interventions.

Thank you to the participants for coming in large numbers to make this conference a quality event.

This subject will not fail to be discussed in the coming months and on the eve of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Témoignages

Ms Monlouis brings her expert assessment of football overall and globally and on Africa, which remains the focus on our TV channel. Her football knowledge has always impressed me; she can write about it without being a professional athlete in this field. The bonus for me comes from the analyses and legal advice she brings to our audience.
